ASSESSMENT
An assessment is done to determine the magnitude of the specific problem in terms of substance abuse and to select the appropriate intervention.

DETOXIFICATION

Intravenous Detoxification Process

3-5 days purification is most of the times necessary, depending on the substance of abuse. Doctor's assessment and consent needed.

This process involves:
Cleansing the system (getting rid of toxin’s)
Monitoring withdrawal symptoms at all times and administering appropriate medication as prescribed.

Withdrawal could include – restlessness, sweating, blurred vision, headaches, nausea, vomiting,          tremors, insomnia, anxiety, irritability, joint/muscle pain.

Detoxification helps to alleviate withdrawal symptoms in a safe and comfortable environment, as withdrawal from drugs and alcohol can be life threatening in certain cases.

Severe withdrawal situations such as delirium, hallucinations, delusions, grand mal seizures, will be dealt with in Hospital rather than the Centre (24hr supervision needed).

Nitrous Oxide Detoxification

1 hour on Nitrous Oxide gas to alleviate the bad withdrawal from tobacco, heroin, alcohol etc.  Patient might need more than one treatment depending on his/her problem or withdrawal.  Doctor's approval and consent needed before administering treatment. Information available at the Clinic.
